iMentor Mentorship Program

The COIF iMentor Mentorship Program aligns with the United Nation’s Sustainable Goal #8 (UN SDG8) - Decent Work and Economic Growth – to "promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all", and African Union (AU) Agenda 2063 Goals# 12 & 18 - “Capable institutions and transformative leadership in place” and “Engaged and Empowered Youth and Children”.

It seeks to close the ‘achievement’ and ‘skills’ gaps amongst the youth in various educational institutions using a strategy toolkit on what we do (engagement) and how we execute (methodology). Additionally, it is founded on a strength-based rather than deficit-based approach to help participants realize their potential, focus on assets rather than problems, and focus on building supportive relationships between youths and adults - a key component of youth development programs.

The program is a nine months journey which seeks to help youth participants to improve and develop social, life, career, leadership & personal skills. The program is offered annually with an opportunity to advance from entry to intermediate and advance levels.

The program involves facilitators from the diaspora meeting with mentees face to face and virtually for sessions. Its unique nature attracts students from junior & senior secondary schools, tertiary institutions, University, young entrepreneurs and professionals.
